How To Choose The Perfect Online Course For You
How do you prefer to learn?
When you’re looking for dive theory online, it’s important to pick the training that suits you.
One that meets your needs, and one that is comfortable for you to learn in your own way.
Not all training programs are created equal – some will be more comprehensive than others, and some will be geared specifically for PADI Instructors.
If you’re looking for the best possible training, then you need to make sure that you do your research and find a program that is right for you.
How do you prefer to learn?
In this article, we’ll discuss what to look for when choosing a dive theory training program, and we’ll provide some tips on how to get the most out of your education.
After all we’re all different, and have unique needs.
PADI Dive Theory Online
PADI has it’s online Dive Theory e-learning program.
The cost is currently GB £122.00 and has the advantage that it might earn credit to some PADI Dive Theory Exams.
Of course it’s a very popular choice for many people.
The content of the lessons is much the same as in all other PADI publications.
So if you have already read the Divemaster manual or studied the PADI Encyclopaedia, you might find the topics and the way they are taught very familiar.
PADI state that the Dive Theory e-learning will dramatically expand your understanding of:
dive physics, physiology, equipment, decompression theory and dive planning.
It’s designed for any diver who wants personal enrichment of Dive Theory.
The way that the course is presented is very user friendly.
You can study either on-line or off-line and the digital products are simple and intuitive to use.
You need to bear in mind that although PADI Dive Theory e-learning may be used for credits in some cases, you’ll always have to sit a physical exam if you want to become a PADI Instructor.
The Exams section of the PADI Instructor Course hasn’t changed.
Everyone has to take exams in both Dive Theory and PADI Standards.
Choose your training carefully
Not every online teaching style suits every learner.
If you’re not comfortable with the way that a particular resource is presented, it can be very difficult to learn from it effectively.
The problem is that some people find complex topics difficult to understand, and need simple ways to learn.

Anyone who has ever tried to learn something new online knows that there are a lot of different teaching styles out there.
Some people learn best by reading texts, others by watching videos, and others by listening to audio recordings.
That’s why it’s important to find an online learning approach that suits your individual needs.
So take some time to experiment with different online teaching styles until you find the one that allows you to learn in the way that works best for you.
Don't Teach Courses - Teach PEOPLE!
Teach People – not Courses! That’s always been my motto.
All of my courses, whether online or in real life are centred around the way that each individual would like to learn.
When you study your own individual needs when you learn something new, you get to realise that everyone is an individual
Once you become a PADI Instructor, you can be flexible and use techniques where people can learn in their own style.

Courses That You Can Buy
Everyone is different, and everyone learns in their unique way.
Over the years I’ve taught many hundreds of people to become PADI Instructors.
Many of them initially struggled to learn Dive Theory to a standard to pass a PADI Instructor Exam.
Online Dive Theory Preparation Course
The first is my Online Theory Preparation Course.
The current cost is US$79 and is extremely comprehensive.
Each topic is taught in a different style to the way that PADI teach.
PADI is extremely successful in teaching people.
In fact it’s the strength of PADI. It shows through in all of their courses.
However, I’ve found that over the past 20 years, many people who are preparing to become PADI Instructors struggle to understand some concepts.
It would be crazy of me to explain those very subjects in the same way that those people had heard many times before.
We both already know that wouldn’t work. So I’ve tried to structure the lessons in a different way.
So with this course, I have 4 main goals.
1. Teach each subject in a very simple and logical way.
2. Teach each subject in a way that will help you teach the same information over to others (after all you’ll be an Instructor soon!)
3. Include PADI Standards into the program, so that you’ll be comfortable with all written exams
4. Include LOTS of (over 700!) questions.
There are 5 complete Mock Exam sets, plus many questions to check your knowledge as the course progresses.
Mock Exam Papers
Some people don’t really need the whole training course.
They would rather simply know what questions they’re likely to find on their final PADI Instructor Exam.
The type of person that wants to know exactly the scope of knowledge required
The cost of this 5 set Mock Exam pack is US$ 49
This whole pack is included in the Online Course above.
So if you’d rather find out simply what you DON’T know, and then work out how to fill the knowledge gap yourself, then this is the pack for you.
Distance Learning Course
The Distance Learning Course is currently US$ 120
This is for people who need guidance along the way.
How do you prefer to learn?
I hope that I’ve helped you to decide which method to choose.
I know that it can be difficult to find the right advice.
The only thing that I would like to add, is PLEASE do your studying effectively before you start your PADI Instructor Training.
All too often I see PADI IDC Candidates stressed and confused because they didn’t study the correct material before their course started.
I wish you all the very best of success, and I know that you’ll be a brilliant PADI Dive Professional.
